With special excitement and enthusiasm, and on behalf of the School of Nursing and the Organization Committee, we are pleased to invite you to present your work at the 3rd Qilu International Young Nursing Scholars Forum, June 13-15th, 2019, Jinan, Shandong Province, China. We 
will cover travel cost for accepted speakers.


I. About Shandong University


Shandong University is a national key comprehensive university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. It is a member 
university of Project 211 and Project 985, two national key construction projects to support the development of high-quality universities. As a 
prestigious research-oriented educational institute, SDU has a long history, a variety of disciplines, strong academic strength, and distinctive 
characteristics.


Shandong University is one of the initiative universities of modern Chinese higher education. Its medical school was established in 1864 and

II. About SDU Nursing


The School of Nursing is one of the thirty academic schools in Shandong University. It was established in 1914 as the first bachelor nursing 
program in mainland China. It is a key institution to educate and nurture nursing professionals and experts for the country especially the 
Eastern China. According to the Best Chinese Subjects Rankings 2018 and China Discipline Ranking by the Chinese Ministry of Education, 
SDU is among the top-ranked nursing schools in Mainland China.


SDU Nursing offers programs at all levels including baccalaureate, master and doctorate levels. It is also a research base for postdoctoral 
fellows. SDU Nursing attaches importance to nursing research and has an excellent record of grants and publications. It also emphasizes 
international communication and collaboration, and develops close relationships with many international institutes, such as Karolinska 
Institute, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Texas at Tyler, and University of South Australia.


Inheriting the fine tradition of Qilu Culture, SDU Nursing is devoted to fostering nursing talents with international vision, innovative thinking,

III. About the Forum


The Qilu International Young Nursing Scholars Forum (QIYNSF) was first initiated in 2017 to provide a platform to share insights and promote 
collaborative research among young nursing scholars from different institutions worldwide. In addition, it is also designated to foster the future of the SDU Nursing by expanding our talent pool and attracting young talent scholars to pursue a career at SDU Nursing. The 1st and 2nd QIYNSF in 2017 and 2018 turned out to be a great success. More than 30 nursing PhD students, post doctorate fellows, and young faculty who were educated or working in the USA, Canada, England, Australia and China presenting their research to more than 500 attendees from the country.


In 2019, we continue to host the 3rd QIYNSF to fulfill the forum theme, "Innovation, Collaboration, Promotion, & Leading". The forum will 
continue to provide an opportunity to network and create collaborations among young nursing scholars. Attendees will have ample 
opportunities to learn about recent advances in the field and share their work and ideas with others who are committed to the advancement 
of nursing.


IV. Call for Abstracts for Oral Presentations:

Presentations that demonstrate state of the science nursing research, education, and evidence-based practice projects or papers are invited.


Speakers are required to have education background in nursing or related disciplines, and be Doctorate Degree holders or be 
graduated with doctorate degree by the end of year 2019.
They are expected to provide information, strategies, and/or tools relevant to 
nursing researchers, educators, practitioners, and/or policy makers to advance their work. Topics on all aspects of nursing research are 
welcome, whereas those on nursing education, mental health, aging and geriatric nursing, chronic disease nursing, and translational 
research are preferred.


Oral presentations will feature completed research, education, evidenced-based practice projects or papers related to nursing. Speakers will 
be grouped in sessions by topic area and will present at their assigned concurrent session using PowerPoint slides. The oral presentation 
length will be 35 minutes, which includes time for questions and discussion.


Application guidelines:

l Abstracts and applicant’s information must be submitted in English or Chinese by filling in the application form and send it to 
Ms. Jingju Guo at guojingju@sdu.edu.cn.

l Abstracts must include: Background and Purpose, Model / Framework, if used, Methods, Results, Conclusions and Implications.

l Word limit: Abstract in English should have at least 200 words and there is no maximum limit. Abstract in Chinese should have 
500 to 800 words.


Evaluation criteria:

l Abstracts will be blind reviewed and evaluated for their scientific merit and their relevance to nursing research, education, and 
practice.


Due dates and notification:

l Abstract submissions will be accepted until Friday, March 15, 2019.

l Notification of the Organization Committee's decision to accept or decline your abstract will be sent to you no later than 
Friday, March 29, 2019
.


V. Funding

SDU Nursing will provide the following for accepted speakers.

l Speakers who need to transport from foreign countries to Jinan will be reimbursed the airfare cost of round-trip international 
economy-class flight (up to 10,000 Chinese Yuan, invoice or receipt is required for reimbursement).

l Free registration, meals, and accommodation in Jinan;

l A fix amount of stipend to support domestic transportation and other expenses within Mainland China.
